The trailer of the hyped Gunday (starring Ranveer Singh,
Arjun Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan Khan) has understandably attracted a
lot of views on video hosting sites right immediately after its release. Both
Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor are promising young stars, while Priyanka Chopra
has staunchly held her position as one of the top actresses in recent years.
Irrfan Khan is arguably the best character actor out there and some would
probably expect him to give tough competition to the protagonists for the
accolades! All in all, the hype surrounding the movie shows how much the
audience expects from it. And the trailer promises no less – it is loud,
spectacular, colorful, invigorating and tight. It is replete with breathtaking
views of Calcutta (of the 1970s-80s), stunning Sholay-esque locales,
testosterone-pumping grandiose assertions of heroism and violence, and some
rather commendable cinematography.
To know what I am talking about, watch this trailer with
subtitles on Subcommune. This app lets you watch a variety of videos (but for
now, I’d like you to watch the Gunday trailer!), and save the best bits. You
can then watch them later on. As soon as I watched the trailer, I saved the
remarkable scene where the two protagonists jump off a cliff onto a moving
train! It’s fun and rather convenient.
And after all, who could curb the curiosity of wanting to know what the
English transcriptions of our dramatic, brilliant Bollywood dialogues sound
like?
